I’m really curious how he beatboxes and still keeps playing the flute without screwing up. I’d think he’d blow air into the flute the wrong way when he makes the beats and mess up the notes.
Serious skill, that is.
O-k, so I have been asked by multiple bloggers (looking at you Ashish) and forum members to take some pictures of my new TV, my phone, my 360, whatnot, and I’m going to do so tomorrow finally, but I’ve got a question: There will probably be about 5, so do you guys recommend I just put them in a post, or make a Flickr album and put them all in there?
I’ll also be taking some pictures with my phone at tonight’s John Mayer concert, which I’d like to post as well, so I could use the advice for those too.
Thanks in advance
OMG. OMG OMG OMG. Cat has just told me that The Guardian, one of the most popular newspapers in the UK, has linked (scroll down to Blogroll) to her post about Save the Vowels! Apparently she got 3,000 more hits after it was put up, too! Sure, it’s not in the actual newspaper, but this is one hell of a start.
Incase you don’t know, Save the Vowels is a.. err.. campaign that me and Cat have started. The idea is to get people to start typing out their words on forums and blog comments. We could really care less about personal things, but if the person who writes it wants us and others to read it and respond, we shouldn’t have to spend 5 minutes decoding the txt language that can be so foreign to us all because they decided they couldn’t be assed to type out full words. It all started with me finding that signature, and then it went onto some forums, and it took off from there.
I don’t think we ever thought it would get anywhere, it was really just one of those ‘ah, what the hell, let’s see what happens’ things. This is simply amazing.
Let’s keep this train going and make sure the Vowels don’t die out!

My thermometer is reading 12 degrees and according to our local weather station, the wind chill has it feeling like 1 degree out there. They say it’ll drop out to -5 by time it starts to get warmer as the sun comes up.
Am I the only one who thinks that’s really cold? It might be just the fact that I’ve never been in anything this cold before, but I’ve got the heating on and I still can’t feel my toes. My cat’s even shivering a wee bit!
And I hear it’s like -44 up in N. Dakota? How do you guys survive in that?
Anyway, I’m off to go find some ice to make an igloo with and a big fuzzy jacket or a [live] lion to wear. Don’t really care if it eats me as long as I’m warm.
Right, I want to put that VS. Livecard in my footer but I don’t know which templates have footers/how to put things in.
If someone could be a cool sponge and give me a list of the ones with footers and how to put things in, I’ll be forever grateful. Hell, I’ll even give you a penny.

It’s been a bit, but Cat has finally gotten close enough to me to start our Battle Royale of Gamerscore. She says right now that she’ll have passed me within 2 weeks, but I don’t think it’s happening. We’re not aiming for anything in particular, just to keep ahead of each other until the end of the world.
Place your bets NOW!
(I’ll put this in the footer probably so you guys can watch the duel
)

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the Da Vinci Code in one way or another, whether it be the piss-poor movie or the amazing thriller of a book. First of all, if you haven’t read that, do so now. NOW!!!
But this post is not about the Da Vinci Code directly, it is about one of Dan Brown’s other three books – Angels and Demons, the ‘prequel’ to the Da Vinci Code. I’ve been reading it for a few days and finally finished it this morning, and I will call it one of my favorite books of all time already. It’s simply amazing.
The story follows Robert Langdon (from the ‘Code’) as he attempts to save the Holy City from being destroyed by a new, futuristic weapon called antimatter that obliterates everything in its path once it touches anything made of matter. The entire books spans the course of about a full day. As it gets closer to the detonation time, the actions speeds up exponentially. It’s just so amazing how well Brown can write these thrillers involving so much science and religion. I’ve really never seen anyone put so much information into a story, yet manages to keep it genuinely incredible.
If you haven’t read this along with all of Brown’s other books, you should be ashamed. Go find a box and sit in it until you’ve learned your lesson, then go buy them. If you’re like me you’ll finish each in a few days, they just keep you so engrossed that you can’t stop reading.
Anyway, the reason behind this post is this – I’ve read all four of Brown’s books, but I want more. I need some suggestions from people who’ve read his books on another author(s) who has the same style as Brown. Thanks in advance, guys (and girls)!

So, there it is in all its sexy glory – the iPhone.
Apple really knocked it out of the park at first glance; 3.5″ widescreen, camera, sleek design, OS X, amazing iPod interface, and motion sensing that tilts the display. Frankly, I got home, read about it on Matchbox360’s forums, and was ecstatic. I wanted one. And I wanted one now, damnit.
The problem was – I have a Zune, I have a RAZR, and I have a Dell Axim. Sure, it’d be very nice to get it all in one package, but why would I spend so much money? The iPhone is $500 or $600 (AFTER A 2 YEAR CONTRACT!!!!) depending on whether you get 4GB or 8GB. Yes, you read that right. You pay $600 and only get 8GB, for videos, music, and whatever documents you make on it. I can’t be the only one who thinks that’s a bit rubbish, since that will hold bearly any video.
That didn’t quite steer me away though. Though thinking about it more I realized. I have got a Zune now. I pay the $15 a month to get unlimited music through it. I’ve got 2200+ songs downloaded from that. About 500 of those I now couldn’t live without. And iTunes doesn’t have anything like it. It is obvious that the Zune Pass was an amazing idea by Microsoft, because until Apple comes out with an ‘iPod Pass’, I’m staying with my new baby, the Zune. If it wasn’t for that, I’d probably be running to get this iPhone.. which will be replaced in a year. Thank the MS for saving my wallet!
From the public point of view, I see three problems. 1) This thing is touch screen, and has no stylus. From what I’ve read, dialing or typing with a touch screen using your finger is utter hell. Ok, I understand they wanted a big screen and couldn’t fit a keypad. They could have at least given a stylus to make it work. 2) The storage. I understand, maybe there’s not enough room to put in a bigger memory chip.. but at least they could have given us a card slot to expand on. And 3) The price. At $600 not to mention the $60 data plan, who is going to buy this? Maybe the kid who has a lot of money, or the person who’s just joined a business and is allowed to buy himself a business phone, but who else? Most teens won’t be able to afford it, most adults won’t want to spend that much on a phone, and businessmen who have been working already have a perfectly functioning phone that does what it needs to. I think Apple is going to have a hard time finding a market for this phone.
